Pulling out of Quartzsite AZ

Yesterday we pulled out of Quartzsite AZ. We learned it can still be VERY warm in September here. I’ve attached some of the photos from around town. The first is one of the shops. The next is a memorial to a fellow that was a camel driver. In the 1850s the army brought camels here to use for hauling things. It worked fine until the Civil War came along and they needed their resources elsewhere. So the camels were sold or turned loose. The camel driver hung around and helped the army and also prospected for gold. Then there are pictures of lawn art. And lastly a date palm in our RV park that had dates hanging on it. I always thought they were in pods but nope. They are just hanging out in the air with the birds. I wonder if the farmers wash them.
